The annual, car-related charity drive, Northwest Toy Run, is returning to Kent’s Pacific Raceways on Sunday, Dec. 3.

Gates open at 10 a.m. and stay open until 4 p.m. Admission to the Northwest Toy Run is either $5 or a toy/gift for Toys for Tots. Toys and gifts should be new, still in the un-opened packaging, and unwrapped.

While plenty of toys for young children come in, teens are sometimes overlooked, according to Lisa Albrecht, event organizer. Things like beauty kits, hairdryers, make-up, cologne samplers, and more, are great donations that the teens appreciate.

There will be music, food, and probably more than 2,000 vehicles. Last year 2,500 cars came to the event and this year is expected to be just as packed.

Preferential parking is still available as of publication. VIP parking is $25 and Exotic Car Corral is $50. Four vendor and car club spaces are also still available for $100.

During the NW Toy Run, ProFormance Racing School is offering Lead/Follow sessions with participant vehicles around the track. These are purchased in the ProFormance offices on the day of the NW Toy Run.

Other organizations are also planning cruise events around the NW Toy Run. PNW Coupes and Sedans is starting their Cruise to the NW Toy Run from Everett’s Rest Area stop near Silver Lake.

“As founder of this great car group I think it’s important for the members to participate,” said Thomas Owens of the PNWCS club. “To not only show the community that we care, but that we do our part to make a difference.”

Their meetup is at 7:30 a.m. at the Silver Lake Rest Area on southbound I-5, a co-gathering with the Stampede Washington group.

Last year the NW Toy Run raised more than $60,000 in toys and donations for the Toys for Tots drive. For more information about the NW Toy Run, please head to their Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/NorthWestToyRun/.
