Porsche has upped the electric crossover ante with the latest premiere of the Taycan Cross Turismo. The latest sports-car-to-CUV rendition brings the stunning looks of the Taycan EV sedan to people who need more capacity and ground clearance.

Taycan Cross Turismo Looks

Taycan Turbo S Cross Turismo

The newly-released off-roader embodies the Porsche performance and lifestyle for the electric age. Porsche boasts more than 21,000 combinations of model variant, wheel, exterior, and interior options such as seat types—such as massaging options—stitching types and colors, technology, and other factors. No matter which version you get, you’ll have a fixed panoramic glass roof to let more light into the customized interior.

Taycan Cross Turismo Capabilities

Every Taycan Cross Turismo will come with a dual-motor, all-wheel-drive system connected to an all-electric motor. The base and non-turbo models can achieve highway speed in 4.8 and 3.9 seconds, respectively. The Turbo Cross Turismo can hit 60 in 3.1 seconds. And, the Turbo S leaps to 60 in a scant 2.7 seconds—only .1 seconds behind its sedan brethren.

The Taycan Cross Turismo comes with Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM), an active dampening system that adapts the ride to driving conditions. First off, the off-road driving options won’t get you crawling up rock faces in Moab, for instance. However, it will automatically adjust the suspension, traction, stability controls, and torque output for grip on mud, sand, or gravel. Lastly, the extra .78 inches of ground clearance will help the Cross Turismo manage larger road debris without damaging the undercarriage. An Off Road Design Package adds 0.39 inches.

The optional Off-Road design package increases ground clearance

Taycan Cross Turismo Technology

Porsche has filled it with all the tech we’ve come to expect from vehicles and included quite a few premium amenities as well. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, as are the wireless phone charging and over-the-air updates to infotainment systems. Bose and Burmester audio systems are available depending on the model selected. Porsche InnoDrive advanced driver-assistive technologies, such as adaptive cruise control and lane-keeping systems, are optional.

2021 Taycan Cross Turismo Brass Tacks
