Engineering students in the U.S. can now apply to the 2017 Infiniti Engineering Academy program. The 12-month program offers work in both the automotive field and with technologies used in Formula One.

“We are very excited to offer seven engineering students from different regions the possibility to join this technically rich, multi-discipline and multi-cultural engineering placement once again,” said Tommaso Volpe, INFINITI Global Motorsport Director. “The INFINITI Engineering Academy will provide an unmatched range of experiences and opportunities to the 2017 winners.”

To apply, students will complete an online puzzle test along with a multi-stage recruiting process. Ten finalists will be invited to take place in the final selection process this summer.

“The INFINITI Engineering Academy offers an unparalleled opportunity for young, fresh-thinking engineers to experience the best and latest technologies in automotive and motorsport engineering,” said Cyril Abiteboul, managing director of the Renault Sport Formula OneTM Team.

Academy engineers work with a slew of big names in the industry, including Enstone, Renault-Nissan, Infiniti and more.

Competition is fierce as only seven students from America will be selected to join the program. They will join six other student engineers from around the globe.

“I anticipated this experience to be absolutely amazing, but I still found myself blown away,” said Caitlin Bunt, INFINITI Engineering Academy USA winner 2016. “I am participating in projects and gaining experience I never thought I would get to in my first six months. Being here, behind the scenes and contributing to these exciting projects is a dream come true.”

Bunt is completing her six-month placement at the INFINITI Technical Center in Cranfield and will begin the second part of her placement with the Renault Sport Formula One Team in Enstone soon. Other former winners include William Priest, now an engineer with Infiniti Motor Company, and Daniel Sanham, current engineer on the Renault Sport Formula One Team.
