The Ridge Motorsports Park welcomed a new general manager to their team. Tracie Schmitt, former Director of Marketing and Business Development, took the reins from Fred Wright starting Feb. 11.

“I want to give heartfelt thanks to all of our user groups and their customers for the support and love of The Ridge, each of you have been an imperative part of our growth,” Wright said. “It’s been a tremendous honor and a huge amount of fun to lead the development and growth of this amazing facility.”

While he will still be involved in the facility moving forward, it will be in a different capacity than previous, such as being an advocate for expansion and events at the park.

“Fred’s stewardship of The Ridge has been instrumental in bringing the business from the start-up phase to our strong position in the marketplace today”, said Co-Owner Rusty Gill. “Joe and I are grateful for Fred’s governance and positioning us for the opportunity to transition into the next phase of growth under Tracie’s leadership.”

Schmitt has worked at The Ridge since July of 2016 in the director capacity. Before that she has collaborated on major events including NHRA Nationals and with media such as ESPN, SPEED Channel and other networks. She has even been honored as the ESPN Radio 2011 Promoter of the Year.

The Ridge is in its sixth year of operations under Wrights leadership, while Schmitt will take over planning for more national events and future expansions.

Customers of The Ridge Motorsports Park in Shelton can use the road track, race on MX bikes, tackle the Olympic Grand Prix track or sit and enjoy good eats from High On The Hog BBQ while listening to a valley full of engine noises.
